Sony Xperia 10 VIII Weiß

Sony’s Xperia 10 VIII will cost £549 in the UK and €599 in Europe when it arrives in mid-to-late September. That’s a £150/€150 increase over the Xperia 10 VII’s launch price, despite much of the core hardware staying the same.

The biggest changes are a brighter display, upgraded stereo speakers, and quicker access to payment and reward apps. The processor, memory, storage, battery capacity, camera resolutions, and software support promise remain largely familiar from last year’s phone.

Xperia 10 VIII price, specs, and release date

Sony is positioning the Xperia 10 VIII around everyday usability rather than a major performance upgrade. Its product page says the 6.1-inch OLED display is 50% brighter than the Xperia 10 VII’s while retaining a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone also keeps the dedicated Shutter button introduced on last year’s model. Holding the button can launch the camera even when the screen is off.

Inside is the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor used in the Xperia 10 VII, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A microSD slot supports cards up to 2TB, giving buyers an increasingly uncommon way to add storage without paying for a higher-capacity phone.

The rear cameras are also familiar: a 50MP main camera and 13MP ultrawide, along with an 8MP camera on the front. Battery capacity remains 5,000mAh, with Sony again advertising up to two days of use.

Sony has retained several hardware features that have disappeared from many current phones, including the 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD expansion, front-facing stereo speakers, and a physical camera button. The phone also has IP65/IP68 water and dust resistance.

The new stereo speakers are designed to improve volume and sound quality, while the display adds automatic color adjustment for better visibility in bright conditions.

Sony is also adding quicker access to payment and reward apps. Its new Point & Pay menu can bring up supported payment codes and loyalty cards without making users search through individual apps.

Software support is unchanged from the Xperia 10 VII. Sony promises up to four Android upgrades and up to six years of security updates.

That is a substantial support period, although some competitors go further. Google’s current Pixel 11 lineup , for example, comes with seven years of operating system, security, and Pixel Drop updates.

The price increase is the bigger change

Sony launched the Xperia 10 VII at £399 in the UK and €449 in Europe in September 2025, according to its launch announcement .

The Xperia 10 VIII moves both prices up by 150 in their respective currencies. Current launch details put the new phone at £549 and €599, with availability beginning in Europe and the UK in mid-to-late September.

That price increase is especially noticeable because the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, 5,000mAh battery, 120Hz display, and camera resolutions all carry over from the Xperia 10 VII.

The increase arrives as Android phone makers face broader component-cost pressure. Qualcomm has confirmed Snapdragon processor price increases beginning September 1, although Sony has not said Qualcomm’s pricing is responsible for the higher Xperia 10 VIII price.

For Xperia 10 VII owners, the official specifications provide few obvious reasons to upgrade after only one generation. The brighter screen and improved speakers may be useful day to day, but they come without a new processor, larger battery, or higher-resolution camera system.

Sony has announced the Xperia 10 VIII for the UK and European markets covered by its launch materials. Sony has not announced a US price or release date.
